On Tuesday, Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian Ambassador to China, engaged in a significant dialogue with Wu Junli, the Chairman of PetroChina International. Their conversation revolved around pressing global energy challenges and emphasised the critical importance of reliable and secure energy supplies.
This meeting served as a follow-up to a recent discussion between the Group Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and India’s Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, as noted by the Indian Embassy in a statement.

The two leaders explored various global energy concerns, reiterating the necessity for dependable energy sources and stable market conditions.
In September, during the BRICS summit in New Delhi, Dai Houliang, the Chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), engaged in a productive dialogue with Hardeep Singh Puri, India’s Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas. They discussed strategies to enhance energy collaboration between their nations.

This conversation unfolded against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly concerning the ongoing US-Iran conflict and the intensified assaults by Yemen’s Houthis on Saudi Arabian oil installations.
Notably, China and India stand as the leading importers of crude oil globally.
On October 30, Doraiswami had a fruitful meeting with Xu Xiao, the president of the All-China Youth Federation.
Their discussions centred on enhancing youth involvement and discovering innovative pathways to foster deeper exchanges and interactions between the youth of India and China, as highlighted by the Embassy.
