The Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced plans to supply up to 34,000 MW of electricity to consumers across the state, as part of its strategy to ensure uninterrupted power during the peak summer season.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has undertaken extensive preparations to manage rising electricity demand driven by heatwave conditions, agricultural needs, and increased urban consumption.

Officials indicated that the state’s power utilities have strengthened supply arrangements through a mix of long-term power purchase agreements, short-term procurement, and optimal utilisation of available generation capacity. Special emphasis has been placed on maintaining grid stability and ensuring reliable transmission and distribution across regions.

To support the higher load, the government has also directed power distribution companies to enhance infrastructure readiness, including transformer capacity augmentation, feeder maintenance, and rapid fault resolution systems. Round-the-clock monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to address outages and maintain supply continuity.

The state is prioritising uninterrupted electricity for critical sectors such as healthcare, irrigation, and urban services, while also ensuring adequate supply to rural and domestic consumers.
