KPI Green Energy

KPI Green Energy Ltd has secured a major engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth ₹489.17 crore from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL) to develop a floating solar photovoltaic (PV) project at the Kadana Dam reservoir in Mahisagar district. The order marks an important milestone for the company as it expands further into floating solar infrastructure.

The project will have a total capacity of 142 MW (DC) / 110 MW (AC) and includes comprehensive EPC responsibilities, along with a 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) service period. The scope of work covers the installation of the floating solar plant, development of associated electrical infrastructure, and grid connectivity. This includes laying a 33 kV underground transmission line up to the pooling station and establishing 33/220 kV bays at the Kadana substation to ensure seamless power evacuation.

KPI Green Energy is expected to complete the floating solar project within 18 months, after which commercial operations are anticipated to begin. The company has termed the order a significant achievement, noting that it strengthens its renewable EPC portfolio and marks its entry into large-scale floating solar installations, a segment gaining prominence in India due to land conservation and improved solar yield over water bodies.

The project also aligns with Gujarat’s broader renewable energy development goals and the state’s efforts to scale up innovative solar capacity additions.
