New Delhi: India’s clean industry ambitions have received a major boost, with the country’s low-carbon industrial project pipeline expanding by 30 percent in just six months. The latest Global Project Tracker by Mission Possible Partnership (MPP) estimates the pipeline’s investment potential at $433.07 billion, placing India among the world’s leading destinations for clean industrial development.
India now hosts the world’s third-largest clean industrial project pipeline by project count, trailing only China and the United States. The pipeline spans 65 projects across 11 states and covers clean fuels, chemicals, and low-carbon manufacturing sectors.
Green ammonia has emerged as the dominant segment, accounting for 49 projects, while investments in sustainable aviation fuel, green methanol, and low-carbon aluminium are also gaining momentum. Industry experts believe India’s access to low-cost renewable energy, supportive policy framework, and growing project execution capabilities are creating strong foundations for a globally competitive clean manufacturing ecosystem.
The report highlights that a significant share of the investment opportunity is linked to renewable energy infrastructure, reflecting the close connection between industrial growth and the country’s energy transition goals. Major projects under development include green ammonia facilities, sustainable aviation fuel initiatives, and large-scale low-carbon manufacturing ventures spread across multiple states.

Analysts note that the next phase of growth will depend on converting announced projects into operational facilities through stronger financing mechanisms, sustained policy support, and increased market demand. If successfully executed, India’s clean industry pipeline could position the country as a global hub for green fuels, clean manufacturing, and low-carbon exports over the coming decade.
