G. Kishan Reddy

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy has alleged that the Telangana government has not responded to the Centre’s proposal for a ₹10,000 crore green energy investment in the state. He said the Centre was ready to support large-scale renewable energy projects, but the state government had failed to take the necessary steps forward.

Addressing the media, Kishan Reddy highlighted that the proposed investments were aimed at strengthening Telangana’s clean energy ecosystem, creating employment opportunities, and accelerating the state’s transition towards renewable power. He criticised the state government for what he described as a lack of coordination and response on key energy initiatives.

The remarks come at a time when the Telangana government has rolled out its ambitious Telangana Clean and Green Energy Policy 2025, which aims to position the state as a renewable energy hub with major investments across solar, wind, pumped storage, battery storage, EV infrastructure, and green hydrogen projects.

The policy targets a major expansion of renewable energy capacity by 2035, including solar energy, battery energy storage systems, EV charging stations, and green hydrogen production. It also offers incentives such as stamp duty reimbursement, electricity duty exemptions, SGST reimbursements, and subsidies for renewable energy projects and manufacturing units.
