NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), the renewable energy arm of NLC India Limited, has secured a 900 MW solar power project from the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The project marks a significant addition to NIRL’s renewable energy portfolio and reinforces Gujarat’s position as one of India’s leading clean energy destinations.

Awarded through a competitive bidding process, the utility-scale solar project will supply clean electricity to Gujarat’s power distribution network under a long-term power purchase agreement. The development is expected to contribute substantially to the state’s growing renewable energy capacity while supporting reliable and affordable green power generation.

The project aligns with India’s ambitious renewable energy targets and the government’s broader vision of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. Large-scale solar installations such as this are expected to play a crucial role in reducing dependence on fossil fuels, lowering carbon emissions and meeting the country’s rising electricity demand through sustainable sources.

For NIRL, the contract represents another milestone in expanding its clean energy footprint across the country.
