ACME Solar has announced that its subsidiary, ACME Platinum Urja Pvt Ltd, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 200 MW solar power project integrated with a 100 MW / 400 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The development marks a major step forward in India’s push for firm and dispatchable renewable power.
According to the official press release, the tariff for the agreement has been fixed at ₹3.42 per unit. The project has been designed to deliver continuous clean energy by combining daytime solar generation with evening peak storage supply. As part of the PPA obligations, ACME Solar will maintain an annual capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 25–27% during solar generation hours. The battery storage-supported supply must remain available at a minimum of 70% of monthly and 85% of annual demands during peak evening hours.

The project is scheduled to be commissioned by June 2027. Once operational, it will support distribution companies by delivering round-the-clock renewable power rather than variable energy, which is limited to daylight production. With this agreement, ACME Solar’s cumulative portfolio of contracted capacity now increases to 5.38 GW, strengthening its position among India’s leading renewable energy producers.
Industry observers view this PPA as an example of the direction India’s energy transition is heading, towards scalable solar-plus-storage solutions that ensure grid reliability and energy security while helping states and utilities meet their clean energy targets.
