Renewable energy major KP Group has appointed Prof. Sunil Kumar Maheshwari as its Vice Chairman, strengthening its leadership team as the company prepares for its next phase of growth. With nearly four decades of experience spanning academia, public sector leadership, corporate governance, and strategic advisory, Maheshwari is expected to play a key role in guiding the group’s long-term vision.

Brings Nearly Four Decades of Leadership Experience

Prof. Sunil Kumar Maheshwari has built an extensive career across academic institutions, government, public sector enterprises, and private industry. Over the years, he has advised organisations operating in sectors such as power, energy, infrastructure, banking, healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing.

His expertise includes leadership development, organisational restructuring, human capital management, corporate governance, and business transformation. He has worked with multinational corporations, public sector enterprises, government agencies, and international organisations on a wide range of strategic initiatives.

Distinguished Academic and Professional Background

An alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad, Maheshwari has held several prestigious academic positions during his career.

He previously served as Dean (Alumni and External Relations) and Professor of Human Resource Management and Strategy at IIM Ahmedabad. Before joining the institute, he was associated with the National Academy of Indian Railways and IIM Lucknow as a faculty member.

From 2009 to 2013, he served as Advisor to the Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India, contributing to policy and institutional development.

His contributions have also earned him several recognitions, including the Gold Medal for Excellence in Service from the National Academy of Indian Railways.

Extensive Corporate Governance Experience

Beyond academia, Maheshwari has served on the boards of several prominent institutions, including UCO Bank, Andhra Bank, and the NTPC School of Business.

His experience in board governance and organisational strategy is expected to support KP Group in strengthening decision-making processes, leadership development, and sustainable business growth.
