Tata Power has invested ₹60 crore as part of its phased acquisition of a 40% equity stake in Khorlochhu Hydro Power Ltd (KHPL), which is developing a 600 MW hydropower project in Bhutan. The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Bhutan’s Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC), is valued at approximately ₹6,900 crore and is expected to play a key role in strengthening regional renewable energy cooperation.

As part of this investment, Tata Power has subscribed to 60 lakh equity shares priced at ₹100 each. The company stated that the remaining investment will be made over the next five years. This partnership underscores Tata Power’s long-term commitment to expanding its clean energy portfolio and advancing cross-border hydropower initiatives that contribute to sustainable energy development in South Asia.
