Japanese conglomerate Mitsubishi Corporation has entered the biogas market by acquiring a minority stake in Bengaluru-based clean-tech firm KIS Group, according to the company.
Established in 2006, KIS Group provides integrated biogas and biofuel solutions and has operations in 11 countries, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, and Colombia. The company plans to invest around USD 1 billion in renewable gas and biofuel projects across Southeast Asia and India by 2030.

According to the company, the partnership will enable Mitsubishi to leverage its global presence in over 90 countries to support KIS Group’s expansion into North and South America as well as Europe. The collaboration aims to scale up the production of biogas, BioCNG, and BioLNG, contributing to industrial decarbonization and advancing the global clean energy transition.
