Schneider Electric expects its India data centre business to grow faster than its broader operations over the next four to five years, driven by rising demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure.
According to the company, data centres currently contribute around 15–20% of its India business and are already expanding at a double-digit growth rate. Sumati Sahgal, Vice-President for Secure Power and Data Centres for the Greater India Zone, said the segment is expected to become a significantly larger contributor to the company’s future growth.
The surge is being fueled by increasing investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure, hyperscale cloud services, and enterprise digital transformation. Schneider Electric identified data centres and grid modernisation as two of its strongest long-term growth themes in India.
India’s data centre capacity is projected to rise sharply from the current 1.5 gigawatts to nearly 6–7 gigawatts by 2030, with investments spreading beyond major hubs like Mumbai and Chennai into states such as Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Schneider Electric provides end-to-end infrastructure solutions for data centres, including power distribution systems, cooling technologies, UPS systems, switchgear, and energy management software. The company said growing AI workloads are accelerating demand for efficient, reliable, and locally manufactured digital infrastructure solutions in India.
