Premier Energies has inaugurated a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Telangana, marking a significant expansion of India’s domestic solar manufacturing capacity. The new plant is expected to support the country’s growing renewable energy ambitions while reinforcing efforts to build a self-reliant solar supply chain.

Spread across nearly 75 acres, the facility is equipped with advanced automated production lines capable of manufacturing high-efficiency G12R TOPCon solar modules. According to the company, the plant can produce up to four solar modules every 16 seconds, enabling large-scale production with improved efficiency and quality.

With the commissioning of the new unit, Premier Energies’ total solar module manufacturing capacity has increased to 11.1 GW, further strengthening its position among India’s leading solar equipment manufacturers. The expansion is expected to meet rising domestic demand while supporting exports to international markets.

The project is also expected to generate around 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, providing a boost to the local economy while contributing to Telangana’s emergence as a major renewable energy manufacturing hub.

Industry experts believe the commissioning of the new facility comes at a crucial time as India accelerates its clean energy transition and scales up domestic manufacturing under its renewable energy goals.
