Russian President Vladimir Putin has assured India that Russia will continue uninterrupted oil and fuel supplies, reaffirming the strength of the long-standing energy partnership with India even as Western nations intensify pressure on Moscow.
Addressing his Indian counterpart during a high-stakes diplomatic visit to New Delhi, Putin said Russia remains “a reliable supplier of oil, gas, coal, and everything necessary for the development of India’s energy sector,” and pledged that shipments to India would continue without disruption, irrespective of external sanctions.

India-Russia ties have endured heightened scrutiny since global sanctions on Russian energy exports intensified. The assurance from Moscow comes against a backdrop of U.S. tariffs on Indian imports, which were imposed after India continued to import Russian crude.
While Indian refiners have begun adjusting their procurement patterns to manage risk, Russian officials emphasised that Moscow is committed to standing by New Delhi’s energy security needs. Observers note that the move underlines Russia’s strategic pivot toward Asian energy markets amid pressure from the West.
