The Karnataka government has announced a plan to establish additional power substations across the state to strengthen the distribution network and ensure a reliable electricity supply, subject to the availability of suitable land. Energy Minister K J George stated that while around 100 substations have already been commissioned, demand remains high in certain regions.
Under its plan, the state is also promoting the solarisation of agricultural feeders through the KUSUM‑C Scheme, aiming to generate 2,400 MW via private investment of approximately ₹10,000 crore, thereby helping ensure uninterrupted daytime power for farmers.
