Tata Motors has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with THINK Gas to develop India’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) refuelling infrastructure for long-haul commercial vehicles. The partnership aims to speed up the adoption of LNG-powered trucks, enhance ecosystem readiness, and raise awareness of fuel quality and availability.

Under the agreement, both companies will identify key freight corridors and logistics hubs for setting up LNG refuelling stations. THINK Gas will ensure a consistent fuel supply and quality while extending preferential pricing benefits to Tata Motors customers.

Rajesh Kaul, Vice-President & Business Head – Trucks at Tata Motors, said the collaboration supports India’s shift towards cleaner freight operations. Somil Garg, Senior Vice-President and Business Head (LNG Fuel) at THINK Gas, noted that the alliance will help expand LNG infrastructure strategically across India, reducing transport emissions and operating costs.

The partnership marks another step in India’s efforts to decarbonise the trucking sector, with LNG emerging as a viable alternative to diesel for heavy-duty vehicles.
