TACC Ltd, a subsidiary of HEG Ltd under the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has secured ₹1,230 crore in funding from the State Bank of India (SBI) to develop a lithium-ion battery-grade graphite anode manufacturing facility in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. The greenfield project is slated to produce 20,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA), aiming to establish domestic capability for graphite anodes, an essential component in electric vehicle (EV) batteries and energy storage systems.
TACC’s leadership characterised the support from the SBI facility as a strong validation of its long-term vision to place India at the centre of advanced energy materials manufacturing. The project will adopt state-of-the-art technology and sustainable practices in its development and commissioning phases.

TACC, best known for its work in synthetic graphite and carbon materials, has been investing in graphene synthesis and related applications across industries, including mobility, energy storage, construction, textiles, and coatings. The move aligns with India’s broader push to build domestic supply chains in critical clean energy technologies and reduce dependence on imports.
This financing step not only accelerates India’s ambitions in battery materials but also signals growing confidence from financial institutions in the clean energy transition ecosystem.
