In a major boost to India’s clean energy mission, Avaada Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to invest ₹36,000 crore in solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the state. The agreement was formalized during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2025, marking a significant milestone in Gujarat’s renewable energy journey.
Under the MoU, Avaada Group will establish 5 GW of solar power projects, 1 GW of wind power projects, and 5 GWh of BESS projects across Kutchh, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar districts. The projects are expected to be implemented between 2027 and 2030, creating large-scale employment opportunities and contributing to India’s sustainable energy transition.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said the investment reinforces the state’s leadership in the renewable energy sector and aligns with its long-term vision of green industrial growth. “The new ₹36,000 crore investment in solar, wind, and battery storage strengthens our shared vision for sustainable development. The state government will extend full support to ensure successful implementation. Round-the-clock green power is vital for realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat,” Patel said.
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi highlighted that the initiative is in line with India’s goal of achieving energy independence and net zero emissions by 2070. “India’s journey towards energy independence is being powered by visionary partnerships and bold investments like this. Avaada Group’s commitment to developing large-scale renewable capacity in Gujarat will further strengthen the nation’s green energy ecosystem,” Joshi noted.

Avaada Group Chairman Vineet Mittal emphasized the company’s deep-rooted association with Gujarat, recalling that its renewable journey began in the state. “Our solar power story started with India’s first large-scale, ground-mounted 15 MWp solar plant in Gujarat. With this MoU, we are proud to once again partner with the Government of Gujarat in its mission toward sustainable growth,” Mittal said.
The collaboration is expected to position Gujarat as a hub for renewable innovation and investment, contributing significantly to India’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.
