OSWAL Pumps

Oswal Pumps on Wednesday announced that it has bagged a significant order worth ₹442 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to supply 14,787 solar water pumping systems. The company will also undertake installation, testing, and commissioning of the off-grid direct current pumping systems at designated farmers’ sites across Maharashtra.

In its exchange filing, Oswal Pumps stated, “It has been awarded a major letter of award of empanelment by MSEDCL under the PM-KUSUM B Scheme/Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana.” The empanelment is valid for one year, and the installations must be completed within 60 days of issuance of the work order or relevant approvals.

The ₹442 crore order is a significant milestone, contributing to the government’s ongoing efforts to promote renewable energy adoption in agriculture.

Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) aims to add 30,800 MW of solar capacity, backed by ₹34,422 crore of central financial support. Initially targeted for completion by 2022, the scheme was later extended till March 2026 due to delays caused by the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the PM-KUSUM scheme comprises three components: Component A supports the installation of 10,000 MW of small solar power plants; Component B focuses on 14 lakh standalone solar-powered agriculture pumps; and Component C facilitates the solarisation of 35 lakh grid-connected agriculture pumps.
