In a significant move toward promoting green energy and industrial innovation, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has formally handed over a land acquisition letter to Maxvolt Energy for establishing a state-of-the-art lithium battery recycling and repurposing facility in Aligarh. The announcement was made during the “Uttar Pradesh – Udhyam Pradesh” event held at Lok Bhawan Sabha Sagar in Lucknow, coinciding with International MSME Day.
The event highlighted the Uttar Pradesh Government’s unwavering commitment to nurturing innovation-driven entrepreneurship and facilitating sustainable industrial development across the state. With this latest allocation, the state aims to position itself as a leading destination for clean energy investment and advanced manufacturing.
Maxvolt Energy has secured 23,524 square meters of industrial land for the upcoming facility. Strategically located near the company’s existing battery manufacturing plant in Ghaziabad, the new site is expected to create seamless integration between manufacturing and recycling operations. This proximity will help streamline logistics, optimise resources, and ensure operational efficiency.
The planned facility will focus on lithium battery end-of-life management, including the recovery and repurposing of critical raw materials. This initiative is a key component of Maxvolt’s broader strategy to develop a circular battery economy, reduce India’s reliance on imported lithium, and contribute to the nation’s transition to clean and self-reliant energy solutions.
Satendra Shukla, CEO of Maxvolt Energy, expressed his gratitude, stating, “We are honoured to receive this land allotment from Hon’ble CM Yogi Adityanath ji. The support of the Uttar Pradesh Government is a major boost to our mission of building a robust battery recycling infrastructure. This project will not only address pressing environmental concerns but also create employment opportunities and fuel regional innovation.”
Echoing this sentiment, Vishal Gupta, Co-Founder and CTO of Maxvolt Energy, added, “This development marks a pivotal step in our efforts to create a sustainable and self-sufficient battery ecosystem in India. With proactive state support, we aim to drive domestic value addition and long-term resource circularity through cutting-edge lithium battery solutions.”
The Aligarh facility is poised to play a critical role in India’s growing electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage landscape. By enabling efficient resource recovery and reducing raw material dependency, the plant will strengthen the country’s energy security and environmental stewardship. It will also catalyze attracting further investments in clean technology sectors in Uttar Pradesh.
This strategic collaboration reflects a shared vision between Maxvolt Energy and the Uttar Pradesh Government to build a sustainable industrial future while supporting national goals for net-zero emissions and green economic growth.
