Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday met Singapore’s Minister Tan See Leng to deepen cooperation in green energy, logistics, housing, and data centre development. The meeting underscored Andhra Pradesh’s strategic focus on sustainability, infrastructure, and global partnerships.
Naidu urged Singapore-based firms to invest in green hydrogen, transmission corridors, and port infrastructure, highlighting Andhra’s proactive policy shift and transparent governance. Emphasising Singapore’s global leadership in port management and logistics, the CM invited Minister Leng to the Visakhapatnam Global Investors Summit in November.
On day two of his five-day Singapore visit, Naidu assured Leng that previous challenges faced by Singapore firms under the former YSRCP regime are being addressed under new pro-investment policies. Minister Leng welcomed the invitation and expressed interest in collaboration across housing, subsea cable infrastructure, and green projects in partnership with the World Bank.
Naidu toured the Tuas Port and reviewed AI-driven automation, construction models, and cargo systems. He discussed project costs and technology with PSA’s regional CEO Vincent, stating Andhra’s plan to build a port every 50 km and integrate AI across port operations. Discussions also explored technology transfer and joint ventures to elevate Andhra’s maritime ecosystem to global standards.
In a visit to the Singapore Sports School, Naidu—joined by national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand—outlined Andhra’s Sports Policy, which promotes global athlete training, increased government job quotas, and higher incentives for Olympic winners. He announced the development of a dedicated Sports City in Amaravati and integrated sports complexes in Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, and Amaravati.
Inspired by Singapore’s elite high-performance model, sports schools are being planned in Kadapa, Vijayawada, and Vizianagaram. Singapore Sports School Principal Ong Kim Soon shared insights into Singapore’s vision to become a global sports hub, training athletes from the age of 12 through a blend of academics and professional sports development.
